Obituary of Carl F. Monk

Mr. Carl F. Monk, 83, of Old River Road, Fultonville, New York passed away Friday, March 29, 2019 at Albany Medical Center Hospital.

Born on August 1, 1935 in Randall, NY, he was the son of Carl L. Monk and Loretta Kennedy Monk.  He was a graduate of Fultonville High School, Class of 1954 and was a lifetime area resident.

Mr. Monk worked at White Mop Wringer Corp. for over 17 years.  He then obtained his CDL and became a Milk Truck Driver in 1971, working for several companies including Greene Trucking in Amsterdam and Charles Eaves of Cobleskill, retiring in 1995.

He enjoyed carpenter work and hunting.  He had an amazing sense of humor.

In 1958 at the Fultonville Reformed Church, Carl was married to Beverly Irene King.  She preceded him in death in 1963.  His sister, Bernice Smith and brother, Clifford Monk also predeceased him.

Mr. Monk is survived by his 3 children, Stephen C. and Darlene Monk of Fultonville, NY, Carlene and Paul Brucato of Clifton Park, NY, Alan and Cindy Monk of Fultonville, NY; sister, Beulah Flint of Canajoharie, NY; 8 grandchildren, Nicole Monk, Stephen Monk, Jr., Holly Jean Fetter, Nicholas Monk, Amanda Montenieri, Shelby Nagy, Kyle Monk, Meaghan Monk; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 1:00pm at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.  The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, April 3 from 10:00-1:00pm at the funeral home.  Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Fonda.
