It is almost a month now since you passed. I think of you every day. When I left you at the hospital on Sunday, September 30th, I told you that I was still praying for you.
What you didn't know was that my prayer was asking God to take you if you could not get any better. I hated to see you suffer so. I know that you and I had different thoughts on religion, but I feel that my prayers were answered and he put you to rest very early on October 1. We also shared different opinions on some of the politicians and we had many friendly discussions.
I am so sorry that you were not able to finish your book. We discussed that at various times, as well.
thanks, too for all the books you loaned to me. Dutch and I feel that you are a perfect example of not giving up. You put up a courageous battle for 43 years.

My heart is saddened by the loss of Emery. Such a good man, son and friend. His steadfast pursuit of a task, mission, or journey in spite of obstacles, discouragement, or distraction. Emery I wonder what God said when you got there? He will understand and embrace you even though you had reservations he existed. You lived your life as a kind and generous man serving your country. For the family of Emery:
I want to say that we have lost a great soul. I admired his spunk and his determination to live life well no matter how difficult it was for him. He kept his sense of humor. He was also a great writer and I was privileged to be a member of the writing group of which he was also a member. We had some wonderful times visiting him at his home and hearing his sometimes funny stories, both those created by his bright mind and some of his own revelations. We would go to visit, take snacks, read to one another and it was always hard to leave when the time came. Now he has come to his leaving time but I feel he goes on in spirit and IhFPLG hope his stories can be passed along to the world. I think he would like that. I know the world would benefit.
