Obituary of Thelma Mae Frederick

Miss Thelma Mae Frederick, 97, formerly of Fort Plain and most recently of Fort Edwards, New York passed away Saturday, August 28, 2018.

Born on December 11, 1920 in Fort Plain, NY, she was the daughter of Weorden H. Frederick and Ida Mae Rivenburg Frederick. Miss Frederick was a graduate of Fort Plain High School, Class of 1939.  She had been a resident of the Hudson Falls area since August 1, 1958.

Miss Frederick retired in 1986 from The Chase Bag Co. in Hudson Falls, NY.  She worked for 50 years, starting at the Smalley’s Theater and Gilbert Mills in Fort Plain, NY, transferring to Arkell & Smith in Canajoharie, which later moved to Hudson Falls and became The Chase Bag Co.

Thelma was a volunteer of the Washington EOC.

Her sister, Geraldine Richardson predeceased her.

Miss Frederick is survived by several cousins; and her very dear friend, Barbara Fabian of North Granville, NY.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 1:00PM at The Chapel of Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY.  The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from Noon-1:00PM at the funeral home.  Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery.
