Obituary of Ina Rose Nearbin

Please share a memory of Ina to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On July 28, 2017 God welcomed Ina Rose (Frasier) Nearbin into her heavenly home. She passed away peacefully and gracefully in her home in Fort Plain, NY, surrounded by her family. Ina was born January 18, 1934 in North Hampton, NY, to Brayton and Ada (Edwards) Frasier. When Ina was around 5 years old, she was diagnosed with Epilepsy. She wasn't expected to live very long, but proved everyone wrong. Her childhood was more difficult until the medicine was developed to handle that type of condition. She spent her childhood years at various places in Fulton, Hamilton, and Saratoga Counties and attended school in Edinburgh, NY. In 1947, the family bought a farm located on Klock Road in Fort Plain, NY, and she graduated from Fort Plain High Scool in 1955. On August 22, 1959 she married Richard D. Nearbin of Oswego, NY, at The Baptist Tabernacle in Oswego, NY. They began their family while Richard was attending Houghton College in the Genesee Valey of southwestern NY. In 1963, they moved to Chicago, IL, where they raised 5 children. Rebecca (Randall) Wandell of Beloit, WI, Nathan Nearbin of Chicago, IL, Deborah Brooks of Chicago, IL, Stephen (Debra) Nearbin of Chicago, IL, Mark (Rebecca) Nearbin of Fort Plain, NY. They remained living in Chicago, IL until 2010. Richard had some substantial health issues at that point and Ina was in need of more help also. They decided to move (back home as they would say) to Fort Plain, NY, to live with their son, Mark and his family to help care for them in their aging years. She enjoyed singing, putting together puzzles, playing board games, and spending time with family and friends. She was proud to be a lifelong homemaker. She began working, part-time, in the mail room at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL, once all of her kids were out of or in High School. She worked there for 15 years. She was a quiet, humble woman, but her laugh and smile would light up the room and those around her couldn't help but smile and laugh with her. She lived a simple life and her legacy will always remain, in the lives of her family that she leaves behind. The way she handled the end of her life while battling cancer, was an amazing thing to witness. It was with grace and dignity, still smiling and laughing without a worry about where she was going. Her concerns were of others, not herself. She knew she would be seeing her Lord and Savior soon and her journey was over. She is survived by her 5 children; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Leroy "Jake" Frasier of Mohawk, NY, Cyrus Frasier of St. Johnsville, NY, George Frasier of Little Falls, NY, Guy Frasier of Fort Plain, NY, Harvey Frasier of Mohawk, NY; sister, Marion Alkinburgh of Nelliston, NY. She was predeceased by her infant brother, Howard Frasier and sister, Eleanor Monk of Starkville, NY A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 1:00 at Faith Bible Church, 108 Crosby Road, Sprakers, NY 12166 with Pastor Mark Kelley officiating.
