Mrs. Carol A. Soodsma, 86, of Sprakers, New York died Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Hope Health Care, Cape Coral, Florida, with her loving family at her side. Born on December 1, 1934 in Hawthorne, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Bertha and Charles Arnold. Carol, along with husband Gary, were the owners of The Carriage House, in Sprakers. She was a member of the Currytown Reformed Church in Sprakers. She enjoyed painting, reading and spending time with friends. Carol and husband Gary spent many winters in Florida and loved to travel. On October 19, 1957 in Hawthorne, NJ, Carol was married to Gary H. Soodsma. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2019. Carol is survived by her daughter, Laurie and Gary Kamp; son, Steven and Rebecca Soodsma; grandchildren, Kyle (Samantha) Kamp, David (Ashley) Kamp, Cora (Tyler) Lee, Jared (Alyssa Mason) Soodsma; great-grandchildren, Zachary Kamp, Clayton Kamp, Madison Kamp, Adelynn Kamp and Aurora Soodsma, several nieces, nephews and cousins and sister-in-law, Evelyn Soodsma. A special thanks to the Cape Coral Hospice, for the kindness and wonderful care that they provided. A private graveside service will be held at Canajoharie Falls Cemetery at a later date.
