Obituary of Miss Alexandria Carter

Miss Alexandria "Alex" Carter, 23, of Wagner Street, Fort Plain, New York died Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Albany Medical Center Hospital, due to complications of diabetes. Born on September 19, 1993 in Amsterdam, NY, she was the daughter of Kim L. Carter. She was a graduate of Fort Plain High School, Class of 2011. She received her Associate's Degree from Fulton-Montgomery Community College and was currently enrolled in the Nursing Program at Herkimer Boces. She was a lifelong area resident. Alex was currently working for Liberty Enterprises as a Direct Support Staff Caregiver at the River Ridge House in Canajoharie. She had also worked at the Fultonville Dunkin Donuts while attending college at FMCC. She was of Christian faith. Alex was a Student Council Class Representative in High School. She was also a member of SADD, OK2XL, and the Junior National Honor Society at School. She was a member of the Canajoharie/Fort Plain Elks Lodge #2621 B.P.O.E. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and being part of the "Fab 5". Her grandfather, Dick Carter and close friend, Bo Baker, predeceased her. Alex is survived by her mother, Kim L. Carter of Fort Plain, NY; several grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins; a half-sister, Sidney; half-brother, Cameron; many friends, including the fab 5, Tory Stella, Jenna Wilder, Kelsey Logan, Andie Briggs; boyfriend, Manny Carollo; and furry friend, Pimpin. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 2:30-5:30pm at The Fort Plain Reformed Church, Canal Street, Fort Plain, NY with services immediately following at the Church with Rev. Nancy Ryan officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Miss Alexandria Carter may be made to the Fort Plain Scholarship Association, PO Box 65, Fort Plain, NY 13339.
