Ms. Nancy A. Roosevelt, 78, of State Route 80, Fort Plain, New York passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Mountain Valley Hospice House in Gloversville. Born on May 10, 1938 in Canajoharie, NY, she was the daughter of Donald C. Veeder, Sr. and Irene G. Bellinger Veeder. She was a graduate of Fonda-Fultonville Central School, Class of 1955. After residing in Fonda for many years, she and her family moved to Canajoharie in 1974 and she resided there until moving to Fort Plain. She was a member of the Reformed Church of Canajoharie, where she served as past treasurer. She was a former member of the Fonda Reformed Church. Nancy was the Business Manager for M.W. Roosevelt & Son, Inc. in Canajoharie since 1963. She was one of the founders of Roosevelt Towing, serving as a Dispatcher on nights and weekends for close to 25 years. Nancy was a member of the Canajoharie-Palatine-Root Community Chest and many local organizations. She enjoyed Drag Racing automobiles in the mid-1960s at the Fonda Drag strip. Nancy enjoyed her swimming pool and took great pride in her house and yard. She was a loving mom, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed family time attending craft fairs, sporting events, school plays and concerts. Through the years she loved her many pets. Her former husband, Warren P. Roosevelt, Sr. predeceased her on July 15, 2016. She was also predeceased by her infant daughter, Kelly Alberta Roosevelt; sisters-in-law, Alice Veeder, and Mary Veeder. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly A. and James Post of Palatine Bridge, NY; sons, Warren P. Roosevelt, Jr. and Justine of Sprakers, NY; Gregory M. Roosevelt and Laurie of Palatine Bridge, NY; brothers, Donald C. Veeder, Jr., Deline Veeder; grandchildren, Kelly and Jesse Boucher, Kristen and Michael Kelly, Janelle Roosevelt and her fiance Andrew Davis, Nicholas Roosevelt and Alisha Chase; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her longtime companion, Roger Crews. Her extended family with Roger include his son, that predeceased her, Roger Crews, Jr. and survivors, Brenda Dawson, Tammy and Joseph Konik, Ellen and John Riddle; Roger's grandchildren, Renee and Darrell Battisti, Jason Dawson, Jolene and Justin Stallman, Joseph Konik III, Justin Riddle, Stephanie Riddle, Joshua Crews and Randy Crews; as well as Roger's great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 10:00am at The Reformed Church of Canajoharie. Burial will take place privately at Evergreen Cemetery in Fonda, NY.
