Mrs. Candi E.M. Wilson, 58, of West Grand Street, Palatine Bridge, New York passed very peacefully Thursday, February 9, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her loving family, following a 13-year battle with what she called, her alien cancer. Born on February 24, 1958 in New Hartford, NY, she was the daughter of David Richards and Beverly Gomez. She attended schools in the Utica area and was a local area resident most of her life. She obtained her Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies and her Certified Teacher's Aide Certificate. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Palatine Bridge, NY. Mrs. Wilson was strong willed and very giving. She was full of life and very eccentric. Her grandchildren were her world. She was the type of person that you couldn't help but notice because she was always "dressed to the nines", matching everything from her purse to her shoes. On September 9, 1997, underneath the willow tree, Candi married Peter B. Wilson. Her father, David Richards; sister, Debbie Richards and step-son, Jeremiah Wilson predeceased her. Candi is survived by her husband, Peter B. Wilson of Palatine Bridge, NY; mother, Beverly Gomez and step father Joe Gomez of Canajoharie, NY; 5 children, Michael and Marianne Sardina of Fort Plain, NY, Jessica Sardina Ford and Matt Ford of Fort Plain, NY, Matthew and Lanette Sardina of Fort Plain, NY, Mark and Nichole Sardina of Mohawk, NY, Rachael and Eric Benavides of Austin, TX; step-children, Kyle Wilson, Jennifer and Jeremy Rapson, Joshua Wilson, Jessica and Justin Battisti; 3 brothers, Randy, Scott, Robert; 4 sisters, Mona,Lauri,Cathy, Becky; 9 grandchildren, Sarinda, Jacob, Rhyonn, Keagen, Corbin, Zylah, Marcus, Talia, Dominick; step-grandchildren, Samantha Heffernan, Wyatt Rapson, Waylon Rapson, Nathaniel and Isabelle Battisti; her mother in law Lany Bladek of Little Falls, several step-brothers, step-sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins and her puppy, Puddles. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 6:00PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 165 W. Grand Street, Palatine Bridge, NY 13428. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 4:00-7:00pm at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
