Rodger W. Smith, III was stillborn February 13, 2017 at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville. He leaves behind his parents, Crystal Vogel and Rodger W. Smith, Jr.; two brothers, Brian, Darren; one sister, Clarissa, all of Canajoharie; maternal grandmother, Amy Harrington of Canajoharie; paternal grandparents, Rodger W. Smith, Sr. and Deborah of Gloversville; uncle, Michael Smith; aunts, Kayla Vogel, Trinity Mastish; cousins, Shaylee, Michael, all of Gloversville, Courtney (AJ), Liam, of Canajoharie. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predceased by his maternal grandfather, John Harrington; maternal great-grandmother, Inez Clarke; paternal grandmother, Nancy Swank; paternal uncle, Matthew Smith. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 5:00pm at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 3:00-5:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Fort Plain Cemetery in the spring.
