Obituary of Heather Marie Carpenter

Mrs. Heather Marie Carpenter, 35, of Brookside Ave., Amsterdam, New York passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at St. Mary's Healthcare of Amsterdam. Born on July 24, 1981 in Little Falls, NY, she was the daughter of Jeffrey K. Sprague and Kathleen Scattergood Sprague. She was a graduate of Canajoharie High School, Class of 2000 and was a lifetime area resident. She was a customer service supervisor for Amsterdam Printing, starting her employment with them in 2000. Heather was of Catholic faith. She was a devoted Falcon's fan and enjoyed all sports. On August 22, 2015 in Amsterdam, NY, Heather was married to Ronald Carpenter. Her paternal grandparents, John and Dana Sprague and maternal grandparents, Roy and Julie Scattergood predeceased her. Heather is survived by her mother, Kathleen Sprague of Canajoharie, NY; father, Jeffrey K. Sprague of Sharon Springs, NY; husband, Ronald Carpenter of Amsterdam, NY; brothers, Christopher Sprague of Sharon Springs, NY, Tyler Sprague of Canajoharie, NY; step-daughter, Harmony Carpenter of Amsterdam, NY; step-mother, Barbara Sprague; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends, and her beloved Chihuahua, Cujo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 3, 2017 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Reid Street, Fort Plain, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 3:00-6:00PM at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
