Obituary of Marian E. Schuyler

Mrs. Marian E. Schuyler, 88, of Schuyler Road, Fort Plain, New York died Friday, April 28, 2017 at her home, with her family by her side. Born on March 30, 1929 in Little Falls, NY, she was the daughter of John Hibbard and Rena Foster Hibbard. She was a graduate of Dolgeville High School and had been a resident of the Fort Plain area since 1962, previously residing in Inghams Mills. Mrs. Schuyler worked in the Ad Layout Department at the PennySaver for over 25 years. She also helped manage the family farm, all while also being a mother. She was a member of the Freysbush United Methodist Church. Mrs. Schuyler was the past president of the PTA as well as a past board member. She taught Sunday school at the Baptist Church in Inghams Mills. On April 12, 1947 in Dolgeville, NY, Marian was married to Richard G. Schuyler. Together they celebrated 70 years of marriage. Her granddaughter, Heather Schuyler and grandson, Jeremy Schuyler predeceased her. Mrs. Schuyler is survived by her husband, Richard G. Schuyler of Fort Plain, NY; 5 sons, John "Jack" and Pam Schuyler, William and Barbara Schuyler, Kevin and Mary Schuyler, Bruce and Gretchen Schuyler, Jeffery Schuyler; daughter, Pamela and John Koch, all of Fort Plain, NY; 11 grandchildren, Jason Schuyler, Jennifer Boyer, Jeeana Shaffer, Daryl Schuyler, Tara Schuyler, Michaela Schuyler, Johnathan Schuyler, Ajza Schuyler, Steffen Schuyler, Nicole Smith, Brittany Koch; 13 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Allie, Jack, Abigail, Sadie, Brandon, Tyson, Jorden, Kendrick, Peyton, Noah, Gavin, Gracie; great-great-granddaughter, Adelyn Schuyler A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 12:30pm at The Chapel of Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center St., Fort Plain, NY 13339. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 10:30-12:30pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Fort Plain cemetery. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Marian E.
