Please share a memory of Patrick to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Patrick Bartley, “Bart” Malone passed away in his home on Wednesday, August 9th, 2017. Born on March 14, 1950, he was the son of the late Joseph Malone and Cynthia Malone of Blue Point, N.Y.   Bart was a graduate of the State University of New York at Oswego.  He recently retired from his position as Environmental Chemist for New York State which he held for 28 years.  Prior to that service he was a research biologist at Roswell Park Institute. Bart served in active duty for the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and went to college on the GI Bill. He grew up in Malverne, N.Y. and Blue Point N.Y.  He was a naturalist which he attributed to his maternal grandfather Arthur Bartley who was one of the Founders of Ducks Unlimited.  He loved the outdoors (especially the Great South Bay, where he lived and clammed as a young man), football, and riding his motorcycles.

He is survived by his two sons,  Sean Malone and Jarred Malone; as well as his sister Anne Malone.

A family service will take place at a later date to be determined in Blue Point, N.Y.  Arrangements are entrusted to Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339.
